Flávio Ferreira

About

Born and raised in Angola, Flávio showed an interest in filmmaking, music and the arts from a young age - making and filming short choreographed fight scenes with friends, free-styling and drawing his own comic books.

His filmmaking journey started officially in 2020 when he began studying for his Bachelors Degree in Film Production at SAE Institute Cape Town. Since then he's been involved in various productions taking up the role of producer, director, cinematographer and editor.

His musical journey started at the age of 14 when he picked up his mother's guitar. Today, he has performed on the same lineup as artists such as Nasty C, Judith Sephuma, and Lira; performed at the South African Football Awards in 2019, as well as made a couple of television appearances, namely CTV and SABC 3's Expresso.

His journey as an educator started at the age of 21. After graduating with a Diploma in Audio Technology from the Academy of Sound Engineering, with an average of 98% for his music theory module, he was asked to return, this time as a music theory lecturer. His love for teaching only grew more from then.
